St Dominic’s Catholic Priory

In 2009 the Catholic Diocese of Dunedin engaged Salmond Reed Architects to advise on future directions for this former Priory building in Dunedin.

Our heritage specialist and chartered building surveyor studied the building and prepared a full condition assessment report and Conservation Plan.

This entailed a detailed description of its current condition as well the preparation of an historical account and statements of significance relating to the historical architectural and cultural importance of the building in its context.

It set out conservation policies and recommendations for the management of the building’s future repair and restoration process and forms a foundation for the building owners to prepare feasibility studies for its adaptive re-use.
