Lloyd Macomber

Lloyd Macomber joined Salmond Reed Architects in 1993 and became a Director in 2003.

A practising architect skilled in all facets of design, Lloyd has been a key figure in many of Salmond Reed’s design projects of all scales, from initial conceptual planning through to detailed design. He has contributed also to the documentation of a number of our larger projects, including Government House Auckland, Sacred Heart Cathedral Wellington, the Wintergardens and St Benedict’s Church.

Lloyd has considerable experience in the design, documentation and administration of residential projects. To date these include no less than forty successfully completed projects ranging from interior refurbishments to exterior additions, landscaping features as well as eight new houses.

Lloyd also manages Salmond Reed’s marae conservation projects, arranging and carrying out condition assessments for marae buildings and churches, and feasibility studies for new marae.

Lloyd’s work as an architect is complemented by his talents as an accomplished photographer. These photographic skills have been utilised in the completion of photographic inventories for a number of significant Auckland heritage projects, including the Auckland War memorial Museum, the Civic Theatre, the Domain Wintergardens, St James Theatre, the former Chief Post Office and, more recently, the Auckland City Art Gallery, heritage features in the Auckland rail corridor and the historic Queens Wharf sheds.
