These clients approached Salmond Reed Architects in 2005 to design the refurbishment of their home in Takapuna.  Improvements were to include the integration of a double garage space into the existing structure and an up-dated appearance, especially with regard the porch and entry area.

Along with the addition of the new garage, the work also included the installation of a new modernly equipped and skylit laundry and the re-configuration of the entrance both outside, with freshly detailed steps and porch, and inside, where a new lobby was formed to open, via generous glazed and bi-folding doors into the lounge room.  Windows at ground floor level were replaced to create more space and light within.
The existing dormer window on the north elevation was also remodelled to align with the revised style of the house.

The result was a more substantially detailed home with additional facilities and improved natural light and spaciousness.
