More projects

Salmond Reed Architects was the heritage architect for the upgrade of the Melanesian Mission in Mission Bay, in association with Herbst Architects and their striking new restaurant pavilion.

Located in Devonport’s heritage neighbourhood, this project transformed a 1980s house and garage into a contemporary home and pottery studio. The new design balances contemporary design sensibilities with the area's traditional scale and character. Rich materiality and bespoke interior and exterior design create a comfortable and timeless home.

St Mary’s Old Covent Chapel was designed by Edward Mahoney and built in Ponsonby in 1865-66 as the first purpose-built chapel by the Sisters of Mercy in New Zealand. Salmond Reed Architects led a full external restoration of this Category A Gothic Revival chapel, working alongside specialist craftsmen to undertake numerous timber repairs, restoration of the beautiful lead light stained glass windows and reinstating the heritage colour scheme.
