Inside the character house, spaces and finishes were crying out for remodelling and renewal, which included wall panel detailing, combined with a carefully selected colour palette and elegant fittings throughout.

We and our clients are thrilled with the combined team effort and the result is a striking home to be enjoyed and appreciated for the years ahead.

This English Gothic Revival style church, constructed of Basalt stone with Oamaru stone decorative detailing was built in 1894 and stands tall on a hill in the centre of Auckland. It is the longest established church in the city. The original architect’s ambitious design was never fully realised due to lack of funds.

In 1993 Salmond Architects was commissioned to prepare a Conservation Plan for Auckland City’s main Anglican church, St Matthew in-the-City, at the junction of Wellesley and Hobson Streets.

The historic St Thomas’ Chapel was reinstated within the south transept of heritage-listed St Matthew in-the-City Church. A sensitive addition that carefully integrates new kitchen and toilet facilities within an iconic church interior.
